We came to the United States as teenagers with almost nothing. No friends, no English, and no real roadmap. Just a deep curiosity about the world and a big appetite for adventure.
Like so many immigrant stories, ours started with uncertainty. New classrooms. New cultures. New versions of ourselves, we had to build from scratch. We learned quickly how to adapt, how to work hard, and how to find our place in a country that felt both overwhelming and full of possibility.
Fast forward nearly 30 years, and that leap of faith shaped everything.

We pursued our education, built careers, and carved out paths in industries that could not be further from where we started. Maria built a career in tech and cybersecurity, leading growth and go-to-market strategies. Roger built his career in advertising and media, helping shape campaigns for some of the world's biggest brands.
And along the way, we built something even more meaningful. We built a life here.
We are deeply grateful to this country for opening its doors to us, for educating us, and for giving us the opportunity to build thriving careers and a future for our family. The American dream is real. We are living proof of it. And that is something we want our daughters to understand and carry with pride.
We are raising two daughters who are growing up as Arab, Latino, and American. Three identities we see as a superpower. We want them to dream big, take risks, and believe they belong in any room they walk into. We want them to be proud. Proud of their roots, and proud to be American.
At the same time, we are deeply committed to making sure they understand where we started.
Morocco and Peru are not just places on a map for us. They live in our home every day. In the food we cook. Couscous, chaufa rice, ceviche. In the music playing in the background. In the stories we tell at the dinner table. And on the trips we take back, so our daughters can see, feel, and experience the cultures that shaped us.
We want them to understand the full picture. The beauty, the struggle, the resilience, and the pride.

That same sense of identity and connection is what led us to start Purple Drop.
Purple Drop is our way of bringing a piece of Peru into the everyday lives of people here in the US It is inspired by chicha morada, a beloved Peruvian drink made from purple corn, enjoyed for centuries. It is vibrant, refreshing, and deeply rooted in history. Something we grew up with and have always loved.
But Purple Drop is more than just a drink. It is a bridge between cultures. A modern take on a traditional recipe, made with clean, real ingredients and crafted for today's consumer. At a time when people are looking for better choices, drinks that feel good and taste incredible, there is also a growing curiosity for global flavors and authentic stories.
Our story started with a leap into the unknown. And now we are building something just as bold.
A drink that carries generations.
A brand our daughters can be proud of.
And proof that when you mix heritage, hustle, and a little bit of audacity, you do not just chase the American dream.
You add flavor to it.
Immigrant courage. Peruvian roots. A bold drink

We arrived in the United States as teenagers with almost nothing. No friends, no English, and no clear guidance. Just a deep curiosity about the world and a great desire for adventure.
Like so many immigrant stories, ours began with uncertainty. New classrooms. New cultures. New versions of ourselves that we had to build from scratch. We quickly learned to adapt, to work hard, and to find our place in a country that felt both overwhelming and full of possibilities.

Almost 30 years later, that leap of faith shaped everything.
We continued our education, built careers, and forged paths in industries far removed from where we started. Maria developed a career in technology and cybersecurity, leading growth and go-to-market strategies. Roger built his career in advertising and media, helping to shape campaigns for some of the world's biggest brands.
And along the way, we built something even more meaningful: a life.
